Naogaon: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested six alleged drug peddlers with 119 kilograms of ganja in two separate drives from Patnitala upazila of the district. The arrested individuals are Matabbar Hossain, 48, Nitai Chowdhury, 42, Shariful Islam, 34, Apudeb, 29, Ripon Pal, 36, and Anand Pal, 21.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrests were made after a team from the elite force conducted operations in Mamudpur Bazar and Najipur area of the upazila around 6.30 pm on Friday. The operations led to the seizure of the ganja, as stated in a press release from the RAB-5 Joypurhat camp.
Following these arrests, two separate cases have been filed against the individuals at Patnitala Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act-2018.
