Dhaka: Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Administrator Md Shahjahan Mia has announced that harassment-free public services will persist in the areas under the jurisdiction of the south city corporation. He made this commitment while addressing the fifth meeting of the DSCC Steering Committee today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, twenty-five members of the DSCC Management Committee, including representatives from various government departments and organizations, participated in the meeting. The meeting approved in principle the ‘Dhaka South City Corporation Controlled Graveyard Management Policy-2025’, amending the ‘Dhaka South City Corporation Controlled Graveyard Management Policy-2020’. This amendment aims to provide services to residents within the jurisdiction of Dhaka South City Corporation efficiently and in accordance with regulatory standards.
In celebration of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the meeting decided to allocate an honorarium of Taka 3,000 and Taka 1,500 per person to the Imams and Muazzins of mosques under the jurisdiction of Dhaka South City Corporation. Additionally, the festival allowance for all daily wage employees of Dhaka South City Corporation was decided to be increased to Taka 3,000 per Eid for the Muslim community, up from Taka 2,000. For followers of other religions, the annual allowance will rise to Taka 6,000 from Taka 4,000.
Present at the meeting were Dhaka South City Corporation Chief Executive Officer Dr Zillur Rahman, Corporation Secretary Mohammad Bashirul Haque Bhuiyan, and all department heads and regional executive officers.
