Aush Paddy Seeds, Fertilizer Distributed to Farmers in Dinajpur

Dinajpur: Aush paddy seeds and fertilizers were distributed among 300 marginal farmers in Hakimpur upazila as part of the agricultural incentive program for the current Kharip-1 season. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Amit Roy led the distribution of agri-inputs during a ceremony at the upazila parishad hall, emphasizing the importance of preserving Aush paddy through enhanced agricultural practices.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was presided over by Upazila Agriculture Officer Arzina Begum and featured speeches from notable figures including Veterinary Surgeon Dr. Md. Montasir Mamun, Rural Development Officer Md. Golam Rabbani, Hilli Press Club President Md. Golam Rabbani, and successful farmer Kamruzzaman Shuvo. The Agriculture Department aims to distribute Aush paddy seeds and chemical fertilizers to 10,300 farmers across 103 unions in the district, with each farmer receiving 5 kg of seeds, 10 kg of DAP fertilizer, and 10 kg of MOP fertilizer.



Agriculture Department Deputy Director Nuruzzaman Mia highlighted that this year, 10,500 registered farmers in 13 upazilas will benefit from the distribution of 5 kg of Aush paddy seeds and 20 kg of chemical fertilizers. The initiative involves a total allocation of 51.5 tonnes of Aush paddy seeds and 206 tonnes of chemical fertilizers, as part of efforts to boost Aush paddy yield through advanced technology and research.
