JU Authorities Warn Against Fraudulent Messages Using Vice-Chancellor’s Name and Photo

Dhaka: Jahangirnagar University (JU) authorities have urged caution regarding fraudulent messages being circulated using the name and photo of Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Kamrul Ahsan.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Mohammad Mahiuddin, the acting director of JU's Public Relations Office, issued a press release warning about misleading messages sent via WhatsApp from the number 01303501885. These messages include derogatory content and requests for money.

The university administration clarified that this phone number does not belong to the Vice-Chancellor and suspected it is an attempt to damage his reputation.

A general diary has been filed with Ashulia Police Station, and authorities are actively working to identify the person behind the scam.

The university administration urged students, faculty, and the public to be cautious of any communication from the mentioned number and to report such incidents to the authorities immediately.
