Dhaka: The government today announced the promotion of 196 deputy secretaries to the rank of joint secretary. The Public Administration Ministry has issued two separate gazette notifications that list the officers who have been promoted and outline the conditions accompanying these promotions. Initially, the promoted officers will serve as officers on special duty at the ministry as a consequence of the promotion orders.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the notifications also include two officers currently serving abroad as councilors among those promoted. The notifications instruct the newly promoted officers to submit their joining letters directly or via email to the Senior Secretary of the Public Administration Ministry.
The notifications further state that the promotion of any officer could be revoked or amended if any negative or ‘different type of information’ is received regarding them.
