Dhaka: Information and Broadcasting Adviser Mahfuj Alam announced plans to adjust newspaper advertisement rates and update the media list. He revealed this during visits to five offices under his ministry’s jurisdiction, including the Department of Films and Publications (DFP), Mass Communication Department, Bangladesh Film Certification Board, Bangladesh Journalist Welfare Trust, and Press Information Department (PID).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, while visiting the Department of Films and Publications, Mahfuj inspected various facilities such as the shooting floor, sound theater, film lab, camera center, and production room. He instructed officials to renovate these facilities promptly. Mahfuj emphasized the need for simplifying services and enhancing work quality in line with existing laws and regulations, assuring full cooperation from the ministry for the development of its departments and organizations.
In his review of the Department of Films and Publications’ outputs, Mahfuj offered guidance to officials on improving publication quality. Notable attendees during the visit included DFP Director General (current charge) Khaleda Begum, Mass Communication Department Director General (current charge) Faizul Haque, Bangladesh Film Certification Board Vice Chairman Md Abdul Jalil, and Bangladesh Journalist Welfare Trust Managing Director Muhammad Abdullah.
