Magura: A total of 1,150 marginal farmers from Sadar Upazila here in the district were provided free seeds and fertilizers today as part of the government’s agricultural support initiative for the 2024-25 Kharif season. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Hasibul Hasan distributed the agri-inputs among the farmers at a function as the chief guest, held at upazila parishad premises at 11:00 am.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, 1,050 farmers each received 1 kg of sesame seeds, 10 kg of DAP fertilizer, and 5 kg of MOP fertilizer. Additionally, each of 100 farmers was provided with 1 kg of moong seeds, 10 kg of DAP fertilizer, and 5 kg of MOP fertilizer. The event was presided over by Upazila agriculture officer Md. Humayun Kabir.
UNO Hasibul Hasan stated that the government has been working for the development of local farmers. He highlighted that the free seeds and fertilizers would help lower production costs while increasing outputs.
