IU Forms Investigation Committee to Probe Teachers’ Roles in July Uprising

Kushtia: The authorities of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia have initiated a five-member investigation committee to examine the roles played by teachers and officials during the July uprising at the University. This decision was confirmed in an official order signed by Acting Registrar Professor Dr. Manjurul Haque.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the probe committee is headed by Professor Dr. Aktar Hossain from the Al-Hadith and Islamic Studies department. The committee includes Deputy-Registrar Mizanur Rahman Mazumder as the member secretary. Other members are Professor Dr. Rafiqul Islam from the Arabic Language and Literature department, Professor Dr. Abdul Gofur Gazi from the Islamic History and Culture department, and Professor Dr. M Minnatul Karim from the Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering department.



The formation of this committee by IU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah aims to identify those teachers, officers, and employees who were involved in opposing roles during the July-August Movement at the University. The committee is expected to submit its findings to the Vice-Chancellor’s office within the next 60 days, as stipulated in the notice.



Professor Dr. Aktar Hossain, the committee convener, acknowledged receiving the administration’s letter and expressed his commitment to complete the investigation within the designated timeframe with the help of his fellow committee members.
