2.40 Lakh Children in Jhenaidah to Receive Vitamin A Capsules Under National Campaign

Jhenaidah: Around 2.40 lakh children aged between six to 59 months will be fed vitamin 'A' Plus capsules under the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign on March 15. "A total of 2,40,000 children aged between six to 59 months will be administered vitamin-A Plus capsule," Civil Surgeon Dr. Kamruzzaman said.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, vitamin A capsules will be fed in all upazilas and three municipal areas of the district. The District Civil Surgeon's Office has already completed all preparations for the implementation of the A Plus campaign. The capsules will be administered at all EPI (vaccination) centers in the district.

Health assistants, community healthcare providers, and health workers will work at the field level to ensure the success of the vaccination program. The entire campaign will be supervised by the respective Upazila Health and Family Planning Officers and responsible officials of the Health Department. Children aged between six to 11 months will be given blue capsules, while children aged between 12 to 59 months will receive red vitamin A capsules.

In order to implement the campaign, vaccines and necessary supplies have already been delivered to all upazilas of the district. Civil Surgeon Dr. Kamruzzaman confirmed that all preparations have been completed to implement the Vitamin A Plus campaign.
