Kurigram: Two friends were tragically killed when a truck collided with their motorbike in the Nirashir Patar area under Ulipur upazila this afternoon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased were identified as Sourav Ali, 19, and Plabon Mia, 18. Both young men were HSC examinees from Kurigram Collectorate School and College, and hailed from the Minabazar Dhenkiaram area under Pandul union of the upazila.
The accident occurred when a tractor struck their motorcycle from behind. Sourav, who was riding the motorbike, died on the spot, while Plabon, who was riding pillion, sustained severe injuries. Officer-in-charge of Ulipur Police Station, Zillur Rahman, confirmed the details of the incident.
Plabon was rushed to Ulipur hospital in critical condition, where the on-duty doctor later declared him dead. The tragic accident has left the community in shock as they mourn the untimely loss of the two young lives.
