Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir returned home around 1:30 pm today following a four-day treatment period at a local hospital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, BNP media wing member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed the development, stating that Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has now recovered. Khan mentioned that the Secretary General returned home from the hospital this afternoon.
Shairul Kabir Khan indicated that Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is likely to attend a BNP-hosted iftar party in honor of diplomats at a city hotel. His participation in the event is anticipated after his recent health ordeal.
Mirza Fakhrul's hospitalization occurred on Sunday when he was admitted to United Hospital in Gulshan. Chief Cardiology Consultant Professor NAM Momenuzzaman oversaw his care. Doctors noted that Mirza Fakhrul had low sodium levels and was experiencing difficulty breathing due to coughing and chest congestion, which contributed to his weakness.
