Chinese Envoy Meets Bangladeshi Foreign Secretary to Discuss Bilateral Relations

Dhaka: Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen today called on Foreign Secretary Jashim Uddin at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Both sides discussed issues of mutual interest and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen bilateral ties, according to a foreign ministry press release.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the discussions included topics such as education, skills development, and healthcare cooperation. The Foreign Secretary emphasized the importance of enhancing collaboration between technical and vocational institutes and expanding scholarship opportunities for Bangladeshi students.

The Ambassador highlighted China's initiatives aimed at deepening people-to-people contacts between the two nations. On the Rohingya issue, the Foreign Secretary appreciated China's continued engagement and expressed hope for further assistance in facilitating sustainable repatriation.

Both sides expressed optimism about the future trajectory of Bangladesh-China relations, underscoring their commitment to enhancing cooperation across various sectors.
