Justice Manik, Sohail Interrogated in Sagor-Runi Murder Case

Dhaka: Former Supreme Court Appellate Division Judge AHM Shamsuddin Choudhury Manik and retired Rear Admiral Mohammad Sohail were interrogated in the journalist couple Sagar Sarwar and Meherun Runi murder case. A high-powered taskforce formed by the Home Ministry conducted their interrogation recently at Dhaka Central Jail gate, according to investigation officer Azizul Haque.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the information provided by Manik and Sohail is currently under verification. The Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate, MA Azharul Islam, had previously granted permission for the investigating officer to conduct the interrogation at the jail gate on February 18.



In addition to Manik and Sohail, Enam Ahmed, also known as Humayun Kabir and an accused in the case, was interrogated at the jail gate as well.



The journalist duo, Sagar Sarwar and Meherun Runi, were tragically murdered in their residence located in West Rajabazar under Sher-e-Bangla Nagar thana on February 11, 2012.
