Dhaka: Cheques amounting to Taka 26 lakh were handed over to the families of six victims of road accidents in the district today. Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque handed over the cheques to the families at a function held at the conference of the deputy commissioner as the chief guest this afternoon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Bangladesh Road and Transport Authority (BRTA) organized the function. The ceremony was attended by several key officials, including Additional District Magistrate Md. Mahbub Hasan, Tangail Circle BRTA Assistant Director Sheikh Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, Motor Vehicle Inspector Enamul Haque Emon, Senior Assistant Md. Kamrul Hossain, and other BRTA officials.
Tangail Circle BRTA Assistant Director Sheikh Mahtab Uddin Ahmed informed that from January to March last year, cheques of Taka 26 lakh were handed over to the families of five people who were killed and injured in five different road accidents. Of the total, Taka 5 lakh was given to each family of the deceased and Taka 1 lakh to the injured family.
