Dhaka: Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam has announced that combined patrol operations involving the joint force will be enhanced starting this evening in areas experiencing a decline in law and order. This decision follows a core committee meeting chaired by Home Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury at the Home Ministry’s conference room.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the joint patrolling will involve coordinated efforts from the police, army, navy, and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB). Shafiqul Alam informed journalists that these enhanced patrols aim to address deteriorating security situations effectively. The initiative will include establishing multiple check posts, particularly in the capital, to monitor and maintain law and order.
Additionally, intelligence agency surveillance will be intensified, and over one hundred motorbikes will be allocated to the police force to ensure rapid response to incidents. When asked about the situation in Cox’s Bazar, Shafiqul Alam mentioned that reports have been requested from the police superintendent and local administration to assess the situation further. The government has issued specific instructions to help stabilize the law and order scenario, with expectations of improvement in the near future.
