Service to People is a Pride Worthy Job: Dr Khalid

Satkania: Religious Affairs Adviser to the interim government Dr AFM Khalid today emphasized that serving people is a pride worthy job as he inaugurated a free medical camp at Babunagar High School ground in Satkania upazila. The event was organized by the Nure Habib Welfare Foundation.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the function was presided over by the Chairman of the foundation, Associate Professor of the Law Department of Chattogram University, Sayeed Hassan Khalid. Health Secretary Md Saidur Rahman also addressed the gathering as a special guest. Dr Khalid highlighted the importance of health, stating, “Health is the root of all happiness and it is very important to keep our health well.” He further advised that a disciplined life, balanced diet, and adherence to health routines are essential for maintaining good health.



Dr Khalid assured the local community that a government-managed medical centre would be established at Babunagar to provide medical services to the people in the area. Health Secretary Saidur Rahman reiterated the importance of following health guidelines to stay healthy and recommended physical activity and sports for children. He also advocated for regular walking to improve health.



The medical camp featured the participation of 85 doctors, including 48 specialized physicians, who provided treatment to nearly 2500 local residents. The camp offered free consultations and medicines. Other notable attendees included Director of Health of Chattogram Division Dr Wang Sui Pru Marma, Civil Surgeon of Chattogram Md Jahangir Hossain, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Milton Biswas, and Secretary General of Nure Habib Foundation Nayeem Ahsan Talha.
