World Junior Chess Championship Set to Commence in Petrovac

Petrovac: The World Junior (U-20) Chess Championship is scheduled to commence tomorrow in Petrovac, Montenegro. Bangladeshi International Master Manon Reja Neer and FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia are among the participants in this prestigious event.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the champion of the World Junior Chess Championship will be directly awarded the Grand Master title. The runner-up and third-place finishers will also receive the International Master title. Additionally, participants have the opportunity to achieve Grand Master and International Master norms during the championship.

The tournament will be conducted in an eleven-round Swiss-league format. A total of 166 players, including 13 Grand Masters, 37 International Masters, and 47 FIDE Masters from 61 countries, are set to compete in this year's championship.
