Dubai: Fast bowlers Hasan Mahmud and Syed Khaled Ahmed will travel to Dubai on Saturday to receive training with the Bangladesh Champions Trophy squad, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said in a press release.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the fast bowlers were included in the squad to assist the national team in training in Dubai. The bowlers are scheduled to return home following Bangladesh’s opening match of the tournament against India in Dubai on February 20.
Despite not being included in the original squad, Hasan and Khaled showed noteworthy performance in the recently concluded Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Playing for Chittagong Kings, Khaled claimed 20 wickets in 14 matches, while Hasan, who was part of the Khulna Tigers team, ended with 14 wickets from 13 matches.
After the match against India, Bangladesh will travel to Pakistan for their remaining two matches of the group phase. They will take on Pakistan on February 24 before facing New Zealand on February 27. Both matches will be held in Rawalpindi.
