Dhanmondi: Detective Branch (DB) of police tonight arrested former chairman of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam from the city’s Dhanmondi area.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, following his arrest, Rubayat, also former chairman and dean of the Faculty of Business Studies at the University of Dhaka, was taken to the DB office at city’s Mintoo Road. A DB officer requesting anonymity confirmed the information.
The officer, however, declined to divulge more details regarding the arrest. The arrestee will be produced before the court on Wednesday.
