Dhaka: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP)’s Traffic Division will take necessary measures to ensure orderly entry of vehicles at these entrances and orderly parking of vehicles inside Dhaka University during the Amar Ekushey Book Fair to begin tomorrow.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, members of the Dhaka University Volunteer Team and the Mobile Security Team under the proctor office of the university will provide overall support to DMP, as stated in a press release from DU today. The restrictions on vehicle control at the university entrances have been relaxed on the occasion of the Amar Ekushey Book Fair to allow book enthusiasts to freely enter and exit the fair through the DU campus.
The annual fair will begin tomorrow on the first day of February and will continue throughout the month, commemorating the martyrs of the 21st February 1952 Language Movement. Dhaka University authorities will not put up any barricades to control vehicles during the fair.
Book fair organizer Bangla Academy authorities have already requested the DU authorities to ensure smooth movement of vehicles on the occasion of the fair.
