Court Orders Attachment of Tk 368 Crore Land of S Alam and Family

Dhaka: A court here today ordered the authorities concerned to attach a total of 175 bighas of land, worth Taka 368.25 crore, owned by businessman Mohammed Saiful Alam, known as S Alam, and his family members. Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib issued the order, following a plea submitted by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the court had previously imposed a travel ban on October 7, 2024, for S Alam Group owner Mohammed Saiful Alam, his wife Farjana Pervin, and 11 other family members. This travel restriction was also facilitated by a plea from the ACC and was passed by Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mohammad Ash Shams Zaglul Hossain.



The list of Alam’s family members who were prohibited from traveling abroad includes his sons Ashraful Alam and Ahsanul Alam, brothers Morshedul Alam, Sahidul Alam, Rashedul Alam, Abdus Samad, Osman Gani, and Mohammad Abdullah Hasan. Additionally, his sister-in-law Shahana Ferdous, Ferjana Begum, and one Mishkat Ahmed were also included in the travel ban order.
