Chattogram: The detective branch (DB) of police arrested two alleged drug traders with 36,000 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets worth around Tk 1.80 crore from Komolmunsir Bazar area under Patiya upazila of the district in the early hours of today. The arrested individuals were identified as Nasir Uddin, 48, and his associate Rashiful Islam Rahul, 19, both residents of Sikandar para area under Chokoria upazila of Cox's Bazar district. The police team also seized a microbus used for transporting the Yaba tablets.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, acting on a tip-off, a team of DB Police of Ctg intercepted a Chattogram-bound microbus from Coxsbazar in the area around 12.30 am and detained Nasir and Rahul along with the Yaba tablets. Inspector Md Sazedul Islam of DB, who led the operation, confirmed the details of the arrest. A case has been filed with Potiya police in connection to this incident.
