Mohammedan Triumphs Over Brothers Union in BPL Encounter

Munshiganj: Mohammedan Sporting Club maintained their winning run in the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League football by defeating Brothers Union Club 1-0 at the Birshreshtha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium. The decisive goal was scored by Sunday Emmanuel in the 12th minute, ensuring a victory for Mohammedan.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, despite their efforts to stage a comeback, Brothers Union Club could not manage to equalize. The victory allowed Mohammedan to increase their points tally to 24 from eight matches, whereas Brothers Union remained at 14 points, having played the same number of matches. Both teams are set to play their final round matches on January 24 and 25 against Fakirerpool Young Men's Club and Abahani Limited Dhaka respectively.

Previously, Mohammedan showcased strong performances by defeating Dhaka Wanderer Club 6-0, overcoming Bashundhara Kings and Abahani Limited Dhaka with 1-0 wins, and securing victories over Bangladesh Police Football Club and Fortis Football Club. They also recorded a significant 5-1 win against Chittagong Abahani Limited and a 3-1 win over Rahmatganj.

On the other hand, Brothers Union Club managed a 2-1 victory over Bangladesh Police Football Club, achieved draws against Fortis Football Club and Kings, and secured wins against Chittagong Abahani Limited, Fakirerpool, and Dhaka Wanderers Club. They also faced a 3-1 defeat against Rahmatganj.

In Saturday's matches, Abahani Limited Dhaka will face Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society at Munshiganj Stadium, while Bashundhara Kings will compete against Fortis Football Club at Bashundhara Kings Arena.
