Barishal: Fortune Barishal coach Mizanur Rahman Babu expressed confidence in his team's ability to maintain a winning trajectory despite the departure of key foreign players Shaheen Shah Afridi and Kyle Mayers. Both players were instrumental in Barishal's strong performance in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) season. However, Babul remains optimistic, stating that his team can secure victories without their services.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Babul addressed the media during a pre-match conference, highlighting the team's preparedness for their upcoming clash against Dhaka Capital in the Chattogram phase. Despite Dhaka's recent resurgence after a string of losses, Babul emphasized Barishal's goal to win all three matches in this phase. He remarked that the week-long break since their last match allowed the team to recharge and focus on their strategy.
Babul acknowledged some concerns, particularly regarding death overs and pace bowling, but assured that the team is working diligently to improve these areas. He also noted the batting-friendly conditions in Chattogram, comparing them to Sylhet, and suggested that both batters and bowlers could benefit if they play strategically.
Moreover, Babul hinted at the possible inclusion of pacer Ebadot Hossain in the playing XI during the Chattogram phase, given the adjustments in the squad dynamics. He expressed satisfaction with the performance of local players, who have stepped up significantly this season, highlighting impressive innings by Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Liton Das.
