Lalmonirhat: The district administration has handed over financial grants to six families of martyrs, who sacrificed their lives during the July uprising, and 65 other meritorious students here. The district council organized a programme at its auditorium on Saturday afternoon. With the acting chief executive officer of the district council Feroz Hossen in the chair, district administrator HM Rakib Haider was present at the function as the chief guest.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, each of the martyr's family was provided with Tk 2 lakh. In addition, 65 students from different universities and medical colleges were awarded Tk 20,000 each. The initiative aims to honor the sacrifices made by the martyrs and support the educational pursuits of outstanding students in the region.
