Blenders provided consistent support, especially for the high-quality offerings, while loose tea buyers were notably absent, leading to an increase in withdrawals.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the market showed signs of increased interest, especially for cleaner tea varieties, despite the ongoing quality challenges. The demand for good liquoring Brokens remained fairly strong, maintaining a steady price, although some varieties saw slight price reductions in line with their quality. In contrast, medium and plainer Brokens faced less demand, resulting in a softer market and more withdrawals.
The market for Fannings followed a similar pattern, with good liquoring varieties receiving fair demand and prices holding firm, albeit slightly lower. Medium and plainer Fannings encountered reduced interest and a corresponding ease in market prices.
A total of 12,638 packages of Dust tea were offered, meeting with fair demand, though some went unsold due to quality issues. Good liquoring Dusts managed to sell well, albeit at reduced rates. Medium Dust varieties attracted moderate interest and experienced a price drop of Tk five to ten, closely mirroring their quality levels.
