Dhaka: The government has officially retired nine Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs), as announced by the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The announcement was formalized through nine separate gazette notifications, all signed by Senior Secretary Dr Mohammad Abdul Momen.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the police officials affected by this decision include ASPs Md Mosharraf Hossain, Zobairul Haque, Md Jamal Uddin, Md Nasir Uddin Bhuiyan, Md Matiur Rahman, Md Mizanur Rahman, Md Enayet Hossain, Md Selim Hossain, and M R Shawkat Anwar Islam. The notifications indicated that the retirements were in the public interest, carried out under section 45 of the Public Service Act, 2018 (Section 57 of the 2018 Act).
The notifications also assured that all nine officers would receive the fringe benefits associated with retirement, in accordance with existing rules.
