Dhaka: Chief Justice Dr Syed Refaat Ahmed today affirmed the judiciary's commitment to ensuring maximum protection of human rights in Bangladesh. Speaking at a meeting with Spanish Ambassador to Bangladesh Gabriel Maria Sistiaga Ochoa de Chinchetru at the Supreme Court, the Chief Justice emphasized the country's ongoing dedication to human rights, a commitment that he assured would persist in the future. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Chief Justice reiterated his dedication to upholding the rule of law in Bangladesh during his discussion with the Spanish Ambassador. The ambassador expressed admiration for the Chief Justice's efforts to maintain judicial independence, believing that his leadership would be crucial in advancing the rule of law and justice in the nation. The Spanish Ambassador also committed to providing technical support to help modernize and strengthen Bangladesh's judiciary. The Chief Justice highlighted the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation between Bangladesh and Spain to further develop the country's judicial system.
