Anisul Huq Sent to Jail in Fazlul Murder Case.

Dhaka: A court here today sent former law minister Anisul Huq to jail in a case lodged with the capital's Uttara East Police Station over the killing of Fazlul Karim during the student-led July-August mass uprising. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ragib Nur passed the order as police produced Huq before the court after the end of his five-day remand in the case and pleaded to keep him behind bars till the completion of the probe. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Imran Ahammed on November 20 had placed the former law minister on a five-day remand in the case. Anisul Huq was arrested from the Sadarghat area as he, along with Salman F Rahman, was trying to flee the capital through the waterways on August 13. Fazlul Karim was shot on August 5 while participating in an anti-discrimination movement in the Uttara area. He was rushed to Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. His brother subsequently filed the case against 39 people in this regard.
