Hundreds of BNP leaders and activists, along with members of its associate bodies, participated in the procession, which was led by the central Information Affairs Secretary, Azizul Bari Helal. The event commenced from the KD Ghosh Road area and was marked by enthusiastic participation. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the procession culminated in a rally presided over by BNP City Unit Convener, Advocate Shafiqul Alam Mona. The rally was conducted by BNP City Unit member Secretary Shafiqul Alam Tuhin, with BNP central Information Affairs Secretary Azizul Bari Helal addressing the gathering as the chief guest. During his speech, Helal expressed optimism that Tarique Rahman would soon return home, following his acquittal in the grenade attack case. The High Court delivered its verdict on Sunday, acquitting Tarique Rahman and all other accused individuals who had been convicted by a lower court in connection with the August 21, 2004 grenade attack. A division bench of the High Court, consisting of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain, issued the ruling, which nullified the previous judgment rendered by the lower court in the two related cases.
