Dhaka: Rangpur Riders, which represented Bangladesh in the Guyana Global Super League (GSL), tasted their second consecutive defeat in the tournament when Victoria inflicted a 10-run defeat on them in Providence. Put into bat first, Victoria were restricted to 151 but defended the total astutely by holding back Rangpur to 141-7. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, opener Soumya Sarkar was the lone warrior for the side with a 42-ball 51, a knock that was studded with four fours and two sixes. Another opener, Steven Taylor, made a quick 26 off 14 balls. They put on a 51-run partnership in just 4.4 overs to give Rangpur a whirlwind start, but the dismissal of Taylor sparked a collapse as the other batters failed to take responsibility. Soumya was the fourth batter out with the scoreboard reading 108-4 in 14.4 overs. The subsequent batters then crumbled under pressure, handing Rangpur their second straight defeat in the tournament. In their first match, they conceded defeat in a super over against Hampshi re. Opener Black McDonald was the top-scorer for Victoria with 40 runs, while Joe Clark contributed 32.
