Dhaka: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sazzad Ali today announced plans to elevate the image of the police force by focusing on public service. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DMP Commissioner emphasized the importance of serving the public as a primary duty, aiming to enhance the police's reputation through positive actions despite various challenges. Speaking at a police welfare meeting held at the Shaheed SI Shahjahan Auditorium by Public Order Management (POM) in Mirpur, he urged the police force to work diligently, disregarding hardships, while maintaining sincerity and professionalism to improve the police's image. The meeting began with the DMP Commissioner observing a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs of the July-August movement. Prayers followed, seeking eternal peace for the martyrs and a swift recovery for the injured. The event was presided over by Additional Commissioner of Police (Admin) Faruk Ahmed, with Joint Police Commissioner (POM) Khandake r Faridul Islam delivering the welcome address. The meeting was attended by senior police officials from various ranks within the DMP.
