Dhaka: A delegation from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) today visited the families of enforced disappearance victims to express solidarity and concern for their plight. The meeting took place at Zia Udyan in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, situated in the capital city, where the delegation engaged with the families, including the children of the victims. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman's human rights adviser and 'Deshmata Foundation' chief coordinator, Barrister Abu Sayem, along with 'Amra BNP Paribar' member secretary Agriculturist Moksedul Momin Mithun, extended messages of sympathy to the families on behalf of Tarique Rahman. The delegation's visit included participation in a Fateha recitation program at the grave of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, Bir Uttam, as part of the day's events. The gathering also saw the BNP delegation and the families of the victims share a meal at a local restaurant. Demonstrating further support, Barrister Abu Sayem distributed vario us gifts to the children who have lost their relatives due to enforced disappearances. Highlighting the BNP's ongoing commitment to these families, the 'Deshmata Foundation', under the initiative of Tarique Rahman, provides 'monthly education allowances' to children from 30 families of enforced disappearance victims, ensuring continued support for their educational needs.
