Dhaka: Some 3,000 individuals will receive information and technology-based training over the next four years as part of a collaboration between the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP). According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, BASIS President Rashidul Hasan and SICIP Executive Programme Director and Additional Secretary Mohammed Walid Hossain signed the agreement at SICIP's headquarters in the city. The initiative is set to be completed by 2028 and will be directly supervised by the Ministry of Finance, aiming to enhance the skills of individuals in the IT sector. BASIS President Rashidul Hasan emphasized that the program is designed with frontier technology-based courses, which are essential for preparing skilled manpower for the global competitive market. He expressed confidence that the initiative will create new opportunities for the country's IT sector. SICIP Executive Programme Director Mohamme d Walid Hossain praised BASIS for its strategic course selection. He stated, "Through the SICIP project, we aim to create skilled and innovative human resources that will further strengthen Bangladesh's competitive position in the global IT sector." He also expressed optimism about the partnership with BASIS. SICIP is managed by the Ministry of Finance in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank.
