Dhaka: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has extended financial assistance of Taka 3 lakh each to the families of five out of the 14 police officers who were killed during the months of July and August. This initiative aims to support the bereaved families in their time of need. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the financial assistance was delivered to the families of the deceased police personnel on November 26. Following the instructions from DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md Sazzad Ali, senior DMP officers visited each of the deceased officers' homes to check on the families' well-being and hand over the financial aid, as mentioned in a police press release. During the process of delivering the donations, the DMP Commissioner communicated with the families via mobile phone. He extended his heartfelt condolences and assured them of the department's ongoing support and commitment to assist them in any future needs. A special welfare meeting took place at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium at Rajarbagh Polic e Lines, chaired by the DMP Commissioner. During this meeting, the Commissioner announced that financial assistance of Taka 3 lakh each would be provided from the DMP's own fund to the families of all 14 DMP members who lost their lives in July and August. The Commissioner also expressed his determination to personally visit the families of the deceased officers to offer maximum support. The families who have already received the financial assistance include those of Police Inspector Md. Rashedul Islam, SI Khagendra Chandra Sarkar, ASI Firoz Hossain, Constable Khalilur Rahman, and Constable Md. Shahidul Alam. The DMP has assured that financial aid will soon be distributed to the families of all other DMP officers who died in the line of duty.
