Dhaka: Newly appointed Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Md Sazzad Ali has asked police officials to work with devotion and sincerity to keep Dhaka safe by any means. "Nearly two crore people live in Dhaka city. They must be kept safe by any means. We have no option to step back from the responsibilities," he said. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md Sazzad Ali addressed police officers of various ranks at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium, Rajarbagh Police Lines. He emphasized the need for providing the best services to citizens in any situation, highlighting the importance of being both good people and good police officers. The Commissioner noted that Bangladesh Police is a vibrant organization and warned against vested groups that seek to create confrontations between police and the public. He stated that people are not enemies and emphasized the desire to work collaboratively with them. The DMP chief urged all officers to perform their duties with sin cerity and professionalism, stressing the importance of teamwork. He encouraged officers to foster supportive relationships among team members, expressing hope that they would stand by each other in times of need. During the meeting, the Commissioner listened to the officers' concerns and provided guidance to address various issues. At the start of the meeting, officers observed a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs of the July-August mass uprising, followed by prayers for the martyrs' eternal peace and the speedy recovery of the injured.
