Gazipur: Three students from the Islamic University of Technology lost their lives after being electrocuted in Sreepur. The tragic incident occurred when a BRTC bus, carrying the students, came into contact with a live electric wire from Palli Bidyut around 11 am in the Udaipur Bazar area. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased have been identified as Mozammel Hossain Nayem, 24, Mostakim Rahman Mahin, 22, and Jobayer Alam Sakib, 22. One of the students died instantly at the scene, while the other two succumbed to their injuries at a nearby hospital. Officer-in-Charge of Sreepur Thana, Joynal Abedin Mondal, reported that approximately 15 to 20 students were injured in the incident. The group was en route to Maya Resort, a local picnic destination, when the accident occurred. The injured were dispatched to various hospitals in Gazipur for treatment. Deputy Director of Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital, Jakirul Islam, stated that the bodies of the deceased have been kept at the hospital.
