Dhaka: The government has given the green light to appoint China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Company Ltd (CPPEC) as the Operations and Maintenance Contractor for the Installation of Single Point Mooring (SPM). This decision was made on a Government-to-Government (G2G) basis, reflecting a strategic move in enhancing the country's energy infrastructure. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the approval was granted during a meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on Economic Affairs. The meeting took place at the Cabinet Division conference room within the Bangladesh Secretariat, with Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed presiding over the session. Officials from the Cabinet Division reported that the proposal was presented by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division. The decision to engage CPPEC is expected to play a crucial role in advancing the nation's energy sector capabilities, leveraging international expertise in the process.
