Dhaka: A US government delegation is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka tomorrow for a four-day official visit aimed at bolstering economic resilience, stability, and growth in Bangladesh. The visit will focus on promoting meaningful and quality employment opportunities in the country. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the delegation will be led by Special Representative for International Labor Affairs Kelly M. Fay Rodríguez from the Department of State and Deputy Undersecretary Thea Lee from the Department of Labor. Their visit underscores the United States' commitment to supporting Bangladesh's economy and labor standards. During their time in Bangladesh, the delegation plans to meet with officials from the interim government, private sector garment producers, and labor union stakeholders. These meetings are expected to facilitate discussions on enhancing the country's economic prosperity and safeguarding workers' rights. Additionally, the delegation will engage with representatives from American compa nies with investments in the ready-made garment sector, alongside global labor experts. These discussions aim to identify strategies to support Bangladesh's economic development, democratic processes, and workforce.
