Barishal: Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman today visited the 7th Infantry Division and Barishal area, as stated in a release by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) this evening. During his visit, General Waker-Uz-Zaman addressed the soldiers of all ranks, conducting a ‘Darbar’ for the troops and an ‘Officer’s Address’ for the officers.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Army chief emphasized the improving law and order situation in the country, attributing this progress to the diligent efforts of the Bangladesh Army in fulfilling their responsibilities. He urged all army personnel to continue their cooperation with the civil administration and the general populace with patience and professionalism, taking into account the overall situation of the nation.
The Army chief expressed his optimism that every member of the army, as a symbol of the people’s trust, would carry out their duties with the utmost devotion. He highlighted the importance of maintaining peace and order by sensibly u
tilizing the magisterial power granted by the state. General Waker-Uz-Zaman also encouraged everyone to be prepared to face the challenges of the 21st century through modern and up-to-date training.
In addition, the Army chief inspected and monitored the progress of various ongoing projects under the 7th Infantry Division aimed at the infrastructural development of the newly constructed cantonment. The visit was attended by senior military officers from headquarters, the Barisal area, junior commissioned officers, soldiers of other ranks, as well as civil officers and employees.
