Dhaka: The government has officially announced the formation of the trustee board for the Buddhist Religious Welfare Trust, appointing the Religious Affairs Adviser as its chairman in an ex officio capacity.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Secretary to the Ministry of Religious Affairs will serve as a member in an ex officio role, while Bhabesh Chakma has been appointed as the vice chairman of the trust. The notification, released on Monday, also lists the other board members as Professor Dr. Sukomal Barua, Major (retd) Dr. Ajay Prakash Chakma, Mong Hola Ching, Professor Bobi Barua, Rajib Kanti Barua, Sushil Chandra Barua, and Rubel Barua.
The notification further disclosed that the tenure of the newly formed board will extend until November 16, 2027.
