Cox’s Bazar: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Maulana Muhammad Shahjahan today urged all citizens, regardless of party affiliation, to unite in the effort to transform the nation into a discrimination-free Bangladesh. “To build the discrimination-free Bangladesh of young generation, all should come forward for national unity, irrespective of any party affiliation,” he stated.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Maulana Shahjahan made these remarks at the workers’ conference held by the party’s Hnila Union branch in Teknaf Upazila of Cox’s Bazar. He criticized the Awami League for its 15-year rule, alleging that it has corrupted various sectors and converted governance into a one-party system. He further claimed that the current government has eroded the democratic rights of the people through dictatorial practices.
Maulana Shahjahan accused the Awami League of dismantling national unity by fostering disparity within society and the state. He praised young students for liberating
the citizens from this challenging situation. He emphasized Jamaat-e-Islami’s commitment to working for the welfare of the people and their determination to establish a truly discrimination-free country. “We are committed to build the country by embracing the aspirations of the people,” he affirmed.
The conference also featured speeches from Cox’s Bazar District Jamaat Ameer Principal Maulana Noor Ahmad Anwari, Secretary Zahidul Islam, and District Working Council Member Principal Nurul Hossain Siddiqui. Union Amir Maulana Giuas Uddin chaired the event, which included addresses from Upazila Secretary Maulana Rafiqullah, labor leader Sarwar Kamal Sikder, and Jamaat leaders Muhammad Abdul Majeed, Maulana Jamal Hosain, and Mokhtar Hossain, among others.
