Dhaka: Actor Masum Parvej Rubel, a familiar name in Bangla cinema, and 11 others were injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Barishal highway today. The incident has raised concerns over road safety in the region as it involved a collision between a passenger bus and a microbus. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred when a passenger bus, identified as Global Paribahan, hit the microbus at around 11 am near Samaddar bridge under Rajoir upazila on the highway. Sub-Inspector Mizanur Rahman of Mostofapur Highway police confirmed that the 60-year-old actor, who gained popularity in the 1990s Bangla cinema scene, was en route to Amtoli upazila in Barguna district by microbus along with eight others.
