Rangpur: Rangpur Riders, the first Bangladeshi franchise to participate in an overseas league, unveiled their jersey for the inaugural edition of the Global Super League (GSL) T20 in Guyana. The team shared their anticipation and readiness for the tournament, which begins on December 27 and features five teams competing for a US$1 million prize fund across 11 matches. The competition includes teams from Hampshire Hawks, Lahore Qalandars, Victoria, and hosts Guyana Amazon Warriors. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Rangpur Riders will begin their campaign against Hampshire on November 28. During a press conference at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, team captain Nurul Hasan Sohan expressed the significance of participating in such a prestigious tournament. He emphasized the importance of representing Bangladesh internationally and the team's commitment to performing well. Sohan said, "It's a responsibility for us also to do well. We'll try our best to give 100 percent from our end so that we ge t more such opportunities in the future for the betterment of our cricket." The jersey unveiling ceremony also saw the presence of team director Shahnian Tanim and BCB director Nazmul Abedin Fahim. The Rangpur Riders' players are set to travel to Guyana in phases, with some members, including national players, departing on November 18. The team is preparing rigorously under the guidance of assistant coach Mohammad Ashraful at the academy ground of Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
