Major Police Reshuffle Sees Transfers of Senior Officers.

Dhaka: In a significant reshuffle within the police administration, two Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs), 18 Additional DIGs, and 44 Superintendents of Police (SPs) have been transferred and assigned to various police units. This strategic move is part of an ongoing effort to streamline operations and enhance efficiency within the police force.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs released two separate notifications today outlining the details of the transfers. Among the notable changes, Dr. Md Nazmul Karim Khan, who previously held the position of DIG at the Police Staff College, has been appointed as the commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police. Additionally, DIG Atika Islam, formerly of the Highway Police, has been reassigned to the Dhaka Range DIG Office.

The reshuffle also involves the transfer of 18 Additional DIGs to various units, reflecting a broad strategy to optimize the deployment of senior officers across the police force.
In addition, 44 SPs have been transferred and attached to different units across divisions and districts, further underscoring the comprehensive nature of this administrative overhaul.
