Chattogram: A case has been filed under the Explosives Act against 60 individuals, including former foreign minister Hasan Mahmud and former education minister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury Nowfel, in connection with a shooting incident involving a pedestrian in front of Amtal Safina Hotel in the port city on August 4. The legal action was initiated by Mohammad Zahidul Hasan Fahim, a resident of the Paharika residential area of Khulshi, at the Kotwali police station on Sunday night. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the officer-in-charge of Kotwali police station, Mohammad Fazlul Quader Chowdhury, confirmed that the police have accepted the case following the receipt of the plaintiff's statement. The case statement alleges that Fahim was tortured by the accused using weapons such as machetes, knives, pistols, revolvers, hockey sticks, and bricks during an anti-discrimination student movement on August 4. Following the attack, the complainant sought medical treatment at New Life Hospital.
