Dhaka: Five dengue patients died and 1,337 were admitted to different hospitals in the country during the past 24 hours till this morning. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) stated that during this period, 429 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka city while 908 were admitted to different hospitals outside the capital.
This year, the total number of cases has risen to 72,393, with 355 deaths reported from the mosquito-borne disease. Last year, the country recorded 1,705 dengue-related deaths and a total of 321,179 cases.
