Four Members of Thief Gang Arrested with 52 Tolas of Gold.

Cox’s Bazar: Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in separate drives arrested four members of a thieves’ gang from Cox’s Bazar, Mymensingh, and Dhaka districts and recovered 52 tolas of stolen gold and Tk 5 lakh from their possessions.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrested individuals are Md Himel Miah, 20, Farzana Akhter Ety, 27, her husband Mashfiq Alam, 33, and father Abdul Jabbad, 70. Himel, an employee of Asif Jewellers situated at Mouchak in the capital city, allegedly fled with 59 tolas of gold from the jewellery factory on October 30. In response to the theft, Alimuddin, owner of the jewellery shop, filed a case with Ramna police station.

The CID utilized technology to track the suspects’ locations, leading to their arrest in Cox’s Bazar, Dhaka’s Rampura, and Mymensingh. The successful operation resulted in the recovery of 52 tolas of the stolen gold, along with Tk 5 lakh, as confirmed by the CID’s press release.
