Dhaka: As part of different anti-drug drives in the capital, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 12 people and filed nine cases on charges of selling and consuming drugs during the last 24 hours till 6am today. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, police conducted these operations in different areas under various police stations of the metropolis. The operations resulted in the detention of 12 individuals and the recovery of a significant amount of drugs from their possession. During the raids, police seized 97 yaba tablets, 340 grams of cannabis (ganja), and 23 pieces of tapentadol tablets along with phensidyl syrup from them. The release added that nine separate cases were filed against the arrested individuals with the respective police stations under the Narcotics Control Act.
