Dhaka: Bangladesh will play 69 matches apart from the ICC tournaments as per the new FTP (Future Tour Programme), which was released by International Cricket Council (ICC) yesterday. Over 400 international matches will be held in three formats in the next four years. Bangladesh, however, are playing just two formats-ODI and T20-as they are yet to get Test status. The new cycle will start with the England-South Africa series. Bangladesh will play the first series against Ireland this month, after which the Tigresses will tour Australia and England for the first time. Along with two T20 World Cups (2026 and 2028) and one ODI World Cup (2025), the Champions Trophy will be held for the first time in this cycle. Six teams will participate in this T20 format tournament to be held in Sri Lanka in 2027. Eleven teams will participate in the first women's championship, with Zimbabwe joining as a new team. Separate windows have also been reserved for the Women's Premier League (India's domestic tournament), Big Bash (Au stralia), and The Hundred. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the detailed schedule for Bangladesh's matches under the new FTP includes encounters against several prominent cricketing nations. Bangladesh will host Ireland in November-December 2024 for 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is. This will be followed by an away tour to the West Indies in January-February 2025 for the same number of matches. In December 2025, Bangladesh will tour India, and in April 2026, they will play against Sri Lanka at home. The Tigresses will visit Australia in October 2026 and New Zealand in December 2026. In March 2027, they will host the West Indies, and in May 2027, they will play a T20I series against New Zealand at home. In September 2027, Bangladesh will travel to England, and in November 2027, they will host Zimbabwe. The team will conclude the FTP cycle with a home series against South Africa in April 2028 and an away tour to Pakistan in October-November 2028.
